Roblox DevEx Calculator (CAD)
Work out what your earned Robux actually pay in Canadian dollars. This calculator handles the blended 2026 rates, including the higher US 18+ rate that most guides wrongly tell Canadian creators they cannot access.
Rates current for September 2026
Enter your earned Robux, then estimate what share came from age-verified 18+ players in the United States. Your Roblox analytics can tell you the split; if you are unsure, leave it at zero for a conservative figure.

The two 2026 DevEx rates
Roblox has run a split rate since June 2026. Understanding which of your Robux fall into which bucket is worth real money.
| Rate | USD per Robux | CAD per Robux | Applies to |
|---|---|---|---|
| US 18+ | $0.0054 | $0.0075 | Robux earned from age-verified players 18 or over in the United States, in eligible experiences. Effective 8 June 2026. |
| Standard | $0.0038 | $0.0052 | All other Robux earned on or after 5 September 2025. |
| Legacy | $0.0035 | $0.0048 | Robux earned before 10:00 PT on 5 September 2025. Many calculators still quote this rate as if it were current. |
| CAD figures convert at 1.3805 USD/CAD. DevEx settles in US dollars, so your bank's conversion spread applies on top. | |||
Where most guides are wrong
The higher rate follows the player, not the creator. Eligibility for the US 18+ rate is determined by the age and location of the person spending the Robux, not by where the developer lives. A studio in Toronto with a large American adult audience earns the higher rate on that portion of its revenue exactly as a studio in Texas would. Canadian creators are not on a flat standard rate by default.
Worked example
Why the blend matters at real earning volumes.
A Canadian creator earns 100,000 Robux in a month. Roblox analytics show 40,000 of those came from age-verified 18+ players in the United States inside an eligible experience. The remaining 60,000 came from everyone else.
- 40,000 R$ at $0.0054 USD = $216.00 USD = $298.19 CAD
- 60,000 R$ at $0.0038 USD = $228.00 USD = $314.75 CAD
- Total payout: $612.94 CAD
Had all 100,000 Robux cashed out at the standard rate, the payout would have been $524.59 CAD. The blend adds $88.35 CAD on the same month's earnings, purely because a portion of the spend qualified. Scale that to a creator earning a million Robux a year and the difference is close to $900 CAD.
This is also why it is worth checking your analytics rather than guessing. Creators who assume they are on a flat rate routinely under-forecast their income by 15% or more.

What counts as earned Robux
Revenue from game passes, developer products, in-experience purchases, eligible avatar marketplace sales, and your share of group revenue all qualify. Robux bought with a credit card, redeemed from a gift card, or received through a Premium stipend do not, and never become eligible no matter how long they sit in your balance.
Getting your money in Canadian dollars
DevEx pays in US dollars. If you receive that into a Canadian dollar account, your bank converts it at their retail rate, which typically sits 2 to 3% below the mid-market rate you see quoted. On a $600 CAD payout that spread costs $12 to $18. Creators cashing out regularly often keep a US dollar account or a multi-currency account and convert on their own schedule rather than accepting the default.
Canadian tax on DevEx income
General information, not tax advice.
Money received through DevEx is income in the eyes of the Canada Revenue Agency. For most individual creators it is reported as self-employment or business income on form T2125, filed with your personal T1 return. Convert each payment to Canadian dollars using the exchange rate in effect on the day you received it, and keep the DevEx portal records that show the amounts and dates.
Two thresholds matter. Once your worldwide taxable revenue passes $30,000 in a rolling four-quarter period, you generally must register for and start collecting GST/HST. And if you expect to owe more than $3,000 in tax for the year, the CRA may require quarterly instalment payments rather than a single payment at filing.
Legitimate business expenses such as software licences, asset purchases, a reasonable share of your internet and workspace costs, and contractor payments to modellers or scripters are generally deductible against that income. Keep receipts.
None of this is tax advice, and the rules around digital and foreign-source income change. If DevEx is becoming a meaningful part of your income, an hour with a Canadian accountant who has seen creator income before is worth considerably more than it costs.
Frequently asked questions
What is the DevEx rate in 2026?
The standard rate is $0.0038 USD per earned Robux, in effect since 5 September 2025. A higher rate of $0.0054 USD applies from 8 June 2026 to Robux earned from age-verified players aged 18 and over in the United States, in eligible experiences. Robux earned before 5 September 2025 cash out at the older $0.0035 legacy rate.
Do Canadian creators qualify for the US 18+ DevEx rate?
Yes. Eligibility is determined by the player's age and location, not the creator's country of residence. A Canadian developer earns the higher rate on every Robux that came from qualifying spend by age-verified adult players in the United States. Payouts are blended across both rates.
How much is 100,000 Robux through DevEx in Canadian dollars?
At the standard rate, 100,000 earned Robux pay $380 USD, which is about $524.59 CAD at 1.3805. If 40% came from qualifying 18+ US player spend, the blended payout rises to about $612.94 CAD.
How long does a DevEx payout take?
Roblox reviews DevEx requests on a monthly cycle. Most approved requests are paid within roughly 30 days of submission, though first-time requests can take longer because of identity verification. Payment is made in US dollars through the provider linked to your DevEx portal account.
Is Roblox DevEx income taxable in Canada?
Yes. DevEx payments must be reported to the CRA, usually as self-employment or business income on form T2125. Convert each payment using the exchange rate on the day it was received. Once worldwide taxable revenue passes $30,000 in a rolling four-quarter period you generally must register for GST/HST. Consult a Canadian accountant about your own circumstances.
Can purchased Robux be cashed out through DevEx?
No. Only earned Robux from creator activity qualify. Robux bought with money or redeemed from gift cards are permanently excluded, and no amount of waiting or transferring changes that.
What are the full DevEx eligibility requirements?
At least 30,000 earned Robux, an account at least 13 years old, a verified email address, an active Roblox Premium subscription, and an approved DevEx portal account including identity verification. All must be satisfied before a request can be submitted.
