DevEx Rate in Canadian Dollars 2026

Roblox's Developer Exchange (DevEx) program lets creators cash out earned Robux for real money. Two rates apply as of 2026, and most Canadian creators assume the higher rate does not apply to them. It does, and understanding exactly how it works can meaningfully change your payout.

Standard Rate

The standard DevEx rate is 0.0038 USD per earned Robux, in effect since September 5, 2025. At 1.37 USD/CAD, that converts to roughly $0.0052 CAD per earned Robux, or about $5.21 CAD per 1,000 earned Robux. For a creator cashing out 100,000 earned Robux entirely at the standard rate, that is $520.60 CAD before any applicable taxes.

US 18+ Rate - Global Eligibility

Since June 8, 2026, a higher rate of 0.0054 USD per earned Robux applies to Robux earned from age-verified 18+ players inside the United States, in eligible R15 games. At 1.37 USD/CAD, that works out to roughly $0.0074 CAD per earned Robux.

Here is what most guides get wrong: the higher rate is based on the player's age and location, not the creator's country. A Canadian developer qualifies for the higher rate on every Robux that came from qualifying 18+ US player spend, regardless of where the creator lives. The payout is blended. Robux earned from qualifying spend cash out first at 0.0054 USD per Robux. The remaining earned Robux cash out at the standard 0.0038 USD. Canadian creators on eligible R15 games do receive a blended rate, not a flat standard rate.

Worked Example

A Canadian creator earns 100,000 Robux in a month. 40,000 came from age-verified 18+ US players in eligible R15 games. The other 60,000 came from all other players.

  • 40,000 R$ at 0.0054 USD = $216.00 USD = $295.92 CAD
  • 60,000 R$ at 0.0038 USD = $228.00 USD = $312.36 CAD
  • Total payout: $608.28 CAD

At the standard rate for all 100,000 Robux, the payout would be $520.60 CAD. The blended rate adds $87.68 CAD on that same earnings period, just because a portion of the player spend qualified. For creators with a large 18+ US audience, the difference compounds quickly at higher earning volumes.

DevEx Requirements

To be eligible for DevEx, you need a minimum of 30,000 earned Robux, an account that is at least 13 years old, a verified email address, and an approved DevEx portal account. Only Robux earned through in-game sales, game passes, developer products, and similar creator revenue qualifies. Robux purchased directly with CAD or a gift card cannot be cashed out through DevEx under any circumstances.

How Much Robux Can You Buy With CAD

The 2026 buy rate is 0.0168 CAD per Robux, meaning each Canadian dollar gets approximately 59.5 Robux. The figures below are calculated from that rate. Actual amounts depend on which Roblox product tier you select, as Roblox sells Robux in fixed bundles rather than arbitrary amounts.

$10 CAD buys about 595 Robux
$20 CAD buys about 1,190 Robux
$50 CAD buys about 2,976 Robux
$100 CAD buys about 5,952 Robux

Purchasing through the Roblox website or desktop app gives you the full Robux amount for your money. Buying through an iOS or Android app adds a platform fee that Roblox passes on as a reduced Robux count, so the same dollar amount buys fewer Robux through a phone app than through a browser. For the best rate in Canada, use the web store or redeem a gift card at roblox.com/redeem.

Roblox Gift Cards in Canada

Roblox gift cards are sold physically and digitally at major Canadian retailers. Current stockists include:

  • Walmart Canada
  • Best Buy Canada
  • Shoppers Drug Mart
  • EB Games
  • Microsoft Store

To redeem a card, visit roblox.com/redeem and enter the PIN printed on the back or included in the digital confirmation. The credit applies directly to your Roblox account balance and converts to Robux at the standard web rate.

Gift cards redeemed on the website or desktop app avoid the platform fee that applies to in-app purchases on iOS and Android. If someone in your household typically buys Robux through a phone app, switching to gift cards redeemed on the web delivers more Robux for the same spend. Check retailer stock for available denominations, which typically range from $10 to $50 CAD.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is 1 CAD in Robux?

At the 2026 buy rate of 0.0168 CAD per Robux, one Canadian dollar gets you approximately 59 Robux. The exact math is 1 divided by 0.0168, which equals 59.52. Since Roblox only sells whole Robux, you get 59. For larger amounts, the calculator at the top of this page gives you exact values based on the same rate.

How much is 1000 Robux in CAD?

1,000 Robux costs $16.80 CAD at the current buy rate of 0.0168 CAD per Robux. The calculation is direct: 1,000 multiplied by 0.0168 equals 16.80. This is the price through the web store or desktop app. Buying through a mobile app on iOS or Android typically costs more due to platform fees, which effectively reduces the Robux per dollar.

How many Robux for $20 in Canada?

$20 CAD buys approximately 1,190 Robux at the current rate. The calculation is 20 divided by 0.0168, which equals 1,190.48. Roblox rounds down, so you get 1,190 whole Robux. If you hold a Roblox Premium subscription, you may receive a monthly Robux stipend on top of any direct purchase, which improves the effective value per dollar you spend in a given month.

How much Robux is $50 CAD?

$50 CAD gets you approximately 2,976 Robux. The exact calculation is 50 divided by 0.0168, which equals 2,976.19. This is the base value at the standard buy rate through the web store. Check the Roblox store directly for current bundle tiers, since Roblox occasionally offers promotional bonuses on higher denomination purchases that increase the Robux count above the base rate.

What is the DevEx rate in Canadian dollars?

Two rates are active in 2026. The standard rate is 0.0038 USD per earned Robux, roughly $0.0052 CAD per Robux at 1.37 USD/CAD. The US 18+ rate, active since June 8, 2026, is 0.0054 USD per earned Robux, roughly $0.0074 CAD per Robux.

Canadian creators qualify for the higher rate on the portion of their earnings that came from age-verified 18+ US players in eligible R15 games. The payout blends both rates: qualifying spend cashes out at the higher rate first, and the rest cashes out at the standard rate. The DevEx section above has a full worked example showing the difference in CAD.

Can I convert purchased Robux back to CAD?

No. Robux purchased with CAD, a gift card, or any direct payment method cannot be converted back to cash. The DevEx program only accepts earned Robux from in-game sales, game passes, and developer products. There is no refund mechanism or cash-out option for purchased Robux once it is on your account. If you want to know the cost of a purchase before committing, use the Buy Value mode in the calculator above.
